The Frankeniaceae is a small family of four or five genera and about 75-90 species.
It is widely distributed in dry climatic regions in deserts and sandy coastal areas throughout the world (Al-Tameme et al., 2016).
This family is among some plant families which have been reported to contain flavonol bisulphates (Harborne, 1975).
