The roots of Felicia wrightii contained 3-propylisocoumarin in addation to isoeugenol derivative and the aerial portion of the plant contained (1) and eugenol isovalerate (2) (Fig. 79).
Felicia uliginosa roots contained matricaria ester [MeCH:CH(C≡C)2CH:CHCO2Me] and tetradeca-5,7,9,11-tetraenoic acid Me ester [MeCH2(CH:CH)4(CH2)3CO2Me] (Bohlmann and Zdero, 1976).The most prominent components of the essential oil from Felicia muricata leaves were the monoterpenes, α-pinene, β-pinene, myrcene, limonene, cis-ocimene, trans-ocimene and α-terpineol. Methyl-eugenol, β-caryophyllene, trans-farnesene and bicyclogermacrene were the major sesquiterpenes and all were in minute quantity.
cis-Lachnophyllum ester, was the dominating non-terpenoid polyacetylinic compound (Ashafa et al., 2008).
Felicia erigeriodes DC. is used for intestinal parasites and abdominal pains and also as purgative (Aremu et al., 2010).
