The plant has been found uses as plaster for scrofula pastry, galls for tanning and analgesic, sedative in gastralgia cardiadynia, peptic ulcer, boils carbuncles and also as antitussive and expectorant (Mosharaffa et al., 1999)

The antioxidant activity of the phenolic constituents (Benhammou et al., 2007; Peksel, 2008; Yousfi et al., 2009), the oil or its unsaponifiable matter (Farhoosh et al., 2008, 2011; Sharif et al., 2009) and the essential oil (Gourine et al., 2009, 2010b,c; Miguel, 2010) of Pistacia atlantica has been reported
