The galls of Pistacia integerrima, formed by a kind of insect, are used in India as a tonic, an expectorant and in the treatment of cough, phthisis, asthma, diarrhea, dysentery, fever, vomiting, loss of appetite, nose bleeding, snake bite and scorpion sting (Ansari and Ali, 1996).
